Simon Phelps
Simon has an overarching wealth of experience in agriculture. Having worked in the family farming and livestock marketing business, he subsequently moved to a role as an agricultural auctioneer and valuation expert in 1997.
Simon then joined a major UK based meat processor and importer in 2000 as Head of Red Meat Procurement and Supply Chain, dealing with several of the UK multiples. Other responsibilities included the purchase, management and disposal of land and assets including 2 Scottish Estates. Latterly gaining advance diplomas in HACCP and food hygiene and safety, Simon also oversaw the auditing of all external suppliers.
In more recent years Simon was a board member of a UK farmer co-operative with the responsibility for three business divisions and EU commodity trading. Other experience included writing and managing four jointly funded DEFRA supply chain initiatives in the food and farming sector.
Simon joined AB Agri in mid 2007 and was appointed Commercial Director of AB Sustain in 2008.
