Johanna is from an integrated beef and lamb farm and processing background. She worked in the family enterprise as export manager and, for her first degree, studied international marketing.
Johanna went on to obtain an Msc in International Rural Development (Sustainable Agricultural Systems) from The Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester in 2002.
Johanna worked for ADAS in a business development/international agricultural consultant role. She successfully wrote tenders for, and provided project delivery into numerous projects in Central Asia, the Balkans, Russia and the Ukraine for development agencies such as the World Bank, The Asian Development Bank (ADB), Department for international Development (DFID) and the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
Since 2005, Johanna has been working worldwide with UK retailers to implement and improve welfare and traceability standards for beef, lamb, pig, poultry and fish on farm and at slaughter, in Europe, South America, Asia and Australasia. Johanna developed FCCA in 2008. In 2010 she joined AB Sustain, bringing with her the FCCA business which has now become part of the AB Sustain group of sustainable solutions.
Johanna currently heads business development and animal welfare for AB Sustain.
