In 2009 the Dairy GHG Model developed by AB Sustain for Sainsbury’s became the first agriculture model to receive Carbon Trust certification against the PAS 2050 Standard (a recognised international standard, compliant with ISO 14020, ISO 14040 and IPCC rules).
Since that time we have designed and implemented models for additional farming sectors and continue to extend our tailor-made range. Farmers within the Sainsbury’s Dairy Development Group have realised significant savings as a result of the GHG project and the programme is now being rolled out to include beef, lamb, pork, poultry and eggs.
The Sainsbury’s GHG Project has received a number of prestigious awards from both environmental and industry bodies.
